Saturday Run: More Short than Long

Today I woke up to a cold snap in the weather which delayed my run. I didn't have any interest in running in the cold, so I waited until about 8:00am when the heat began to creep out from under the shade.

Since I delayed my start, the distance also changed. I still wanted to run that hill that had been calling my name so I carved up the original plan and ended up with about 5 miles of rolling hills.

The run felt good and I had a lot of life left in my legs when I finished up. I could have easily ran another 5 miles... maybe I'll save that until next Saturday.

Friday: Rest Day

Took today to focus on what direction my run would take me on Saturday. There is a hill in my neighborhood that I have been interested in running since I moved here a few months ago. I plan to take it on in the morning. Legs are fresh. Weather is amazing. Couldn't think of anything better than a .5 mile run uphill!

Thursday: No Run

I skipped my run today. I am feeling good, but needed to take care of a few things. Tomorrow is a rest day and Saturday will be a longer run than in recent days with a few hills thrown in for good measure.

Three in a row!

Well, today makes three runs in a row. Felt good again and kept my pace slow and steady. The hills are feeling good these days. I plan on adding a few hills into my long run on Saturday.

Tuesday Run

The run yesterday left my legs feeling fresh. I got out early enough after work for there to be a good bit of daylight left so I hit the 4 mile loop again. I made sure not to push it too hard and fished up with the 10x10 superset of pushups and crunches.

Monday Run... Again

So, back on the road and trying to keep up with my runs. The 4 mile loop felt great. I started running through the woods and hit the concrete track just a few minutes later. My pace felt good and the weather could not have been better.

Finished up with my 10x10 post workout super-set of Push-Ups and Crunches. The goal will be to get to 10x20 and then 10x30 and so on. It is a good feeling, but will wipe you out after a good run.

Rest Day

No run today, May 4th. Rest Day. The runs are going well. Mom and Dad are in town and the weekend will be full of family events instead of running. No big deal. Need to give my legs a couple days rest anyway, and no better way to do it but by sharing a few glasses of wine with family.

Another 4 Miles

Yesterday was a good run so I thought I would pick it up for another 4. Average 7 minute pace. I started my first mile around 8 minutes so I figure the last 3 miles were sub 7. Legs felt strong and my turn over rate was pretty fluid.

The green trees here are amazing and the hills are a lot of fun on the legs. I'm looking forward to watching the seasons change and keeping up my runs. That might possibly be one of the only ways to keep me coming out... something new to see each time out.
